They say good things come to those who wait.
I’m used to waiting as a part of everyday life: whether I’m waiting for people to meet with; for a late professor to come to class; for the train, bus or jeep; in groceries and restaurants; or in waiting for slow but memorable moments in life to pass.
But this is different.
So, even if the fiercest storm will come, even if the harshest Winter shall pass, even if I need to cross the most ferocious forests, the steepest mountains, the widest seas, the hottest deserts, I will do everything within my reach just to make you happy.
Because I know, after Winter passes, blissful Spring will arrive; all the hardships will bear fruit; and petrichor will come.
I know, because I believe it will be worth it.
While I listen to chill music and write silly stories, I remember the events that transpired during the past, and I smile (and cry? Maybe not), and hope.
That is why no matter what it takes; no matter how long will I wait, even if it takes forever. I will wait for wait for you, and I promise I will.
I’ll be waiting.
note: Petrichor - the smell of the earth after the rain.
